1972 cb750 help

K.kirkland
So I was just givin a 72 CB750 old man had it and his wife didn't want anything in the garage. I live in so cal and I really want to do this right! Bobber style. I am a diesel guy but I know nothin about these bikes. I want to learn. The bike is 95% there, original everything. Missing a clutch and speedo! Where can I take this to have motor built right or get pointers?

Welcome to the forum. I would start with, does the engine run, and does it need rebuilt? for parts we have a listing of part suppliers on the top of the home page. We also have a "For sale/wanted section". You can also download the service manual from the home page.

Uhmmm...I'd believe it if there were a decimal point between the 7 and the 5.  Or it was running large percentages of nitromethane.  975 HP is what they get out of the F1 engines, turning at almost 20,000 rpm.

Even 90 HP out of an older technology 750cc motor is a stretch.  But maybe that's why there's no clutch: couldn't keep plates in it long enough. :-)
