1974 CB750 a good year to Buy??

Hello,

I am looking at getting into this CB750 craze and I am  lloking at a 1974 CB750 w/ 12,000 miles all stock!  Is there any good or bad years to buy or avoid in the CB750's???

Welcome to the forum.All of these bikes from 69-78 were SOHC bikes. 79-82 are the DOHC bikes. Cb750 existed past 82 as Nighthawks...but when you go to order parts they are pretty much broke down in to 69-78 SOHC and 79-82 DOHC. There were minor differences in both models like Fmodels had a slightly different cam than the K's,Automatics have a different cam as well as compression,I don't know all of them but stuff along those lines.  A '74 model will be one of the easier models to work on. It should have the roundtop carburetors,which are very simple to work on,even if you have never messed with carburetors. They are all very dependable bikes and easy to work on. There are none that need to be avoided that I have ever heard of.
