I just aquired one in great condition.  27k miles.  My question is, if I wanted to sell it, should I leave it with the original green and gold paint or get a custom paint job and then try to sell it.

Cool paint job, but I doubt it would make much of a difference in resale. However the conciseness on the forum is "it's your bike, and make it like, you want it".

This is just my personal view.  If you leave it in the original colours I would buy it from you but if it had a custom paint job I would not but that's just because i have a preference for stock bikes.  However, I think logic says you increase the size of your target market if you leave it in the stock colours.  In the stock colours you appeal to the market for stock bikes and anyone who wants a bike with a custom paint job can fairly easily get something done to their own preference.  If you do a custom paint job, I think you alienate the stock market and some people in the market for a custom paint job will not like your design.

I think it comes down to whether you are going to keep the bike or turn it around in a quick sale.  If you intend to keep it, do whatever you want.  If you see this as a business opportunity, think about your market

I think I will just sell it like it is. It's a nice looking bike. Probably gonna hit eBay tomorrow LOL

 I paint was family business 30+yr's(for self n friends now) as a business cents Stock is always better for resale,even if you went back to stock colors if the rest is not updated also( what's he hiding?) Dealerships will always go to stock for this reason,even remove any add-on's.(but save and use as selling points to certain 1's)
 You will never get your $ back on a custom paint  UNLESS sold at a show .cause there the one's that are just for looks "mostly young and untrained eye",
 Also as stated if keeping " Do it up I'm with ya "

I'm going to sell it as is. I don't know the value of it though. What's a good price range?  I have the bill of sale from 1974 and the title.
