1974 cb750

bazzer
Just found a 1974 in a barn. 6000 miles and runs well. need a couple of parts, stock seat and pipes to start. any help in finding them would be appreciated. I owned a few of thes bikes and bought them new, or a couple of years old. Love the orange color. Step back in time for this 50 year old onda fan. Also the engine has some oxidation. How can I get it back to the original sheen??? all advise appreciated. cheers

Well a seat should not be too hard. Ebay has them and a 72-75 should work fine. pipes on the other hand are harder to get. IF you must have stock pipes in good shape, then you need to go to david silver spares as that is probably the best price on the net. If they do not need to be pristine, ebay also carries them 70-76 K pipes should all fit. If you do not particularly care, $400 or so will get you a new 4-1 system or even a 4-2.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

I own the same year, I picked up a beautiful seat at a swap meet that even had the crome trim still
intack for $100. Ebay should be your last resort, its an auction that drives up the price and the seller is miles away so they don't give a damn about ripping you off.  I got burned on Evil Bay. David Silver is good but they are running out of stock. I bought a new OEM set of stock exhaust for my K4 from Classic Motorcycle Supply in the Netherlands, google CMSNL. The pipes set me back a grand, they look awsome. I may be selling my 74 in the near future. I'm in need of a car. Good luck
I can see November from my house

ive got the same year and had loads of oxidation on the engine which has now been brought back to a very shiny state with heaps of elbow grease . step 1 paint stripper to remove the original varnish on the alloy the wet and dry starting with 240 grade working up to a very fine paper say 1800 it took me about 4-5 hours all up good luck
