1976 cb750 fuel from oil breather

lmilano
Ran engine the other day and during warm up I notice some fuel from the exhaust clamp area #1 cylinder... about 10 drops and then it stopped.   I ran bike for 1 hour on road and it ran fine.  I stopped for a break and noticed about 20 drops of fuel from the breather hose that leads to the oil breather (crankcase).

I am perplexed.........   It also looks like a bit of fuel in the oil tank---  level appears to be 1/8" high.

That is two places where fuel/gas should never get to. If it is gas on the exhaust clamps, you either have a leak in the fuel line, or gas tank. In the oil tank, It is common to get gas in the crankcase from the carbs overflowing into the cylinders, and going past the piston rings. If this is the case, you need to make sure your needle valves are seating, and that your carb overflow/drain tubes are not plugged up.

Thank you

I appreciate it……..  there is no leak from tank or fuel line…………..  I feel that the #1 carb must be overflowing because the fuel from the exhaust clamp area stopped once the choke was lowered and it never leaked there again.   I will ck the carb overflow to make sure it is not plugged.   I will look at the needle valve too……….  I will feedback to you on findings……………
