Thanks, Gunslinger!

Fortunately, I'm not a "hard" rider.  I'm wise enough to know that speed belongs on a track when it comes to a motorcycle, so I always take it easy when I ride.  I find that I encounter FAR fewer situations that require split-second thinking.  Besides, I'd much rather be riding my motorcycles than riding a hospital bed!

By the way, what do y'all recommend in terms of the best oil to use?  I live in Houston, so it's pretty hot with very mild winters.  I ride a '95 Heritage Softail and use 20W-50.  I like to ride when traffic is not so bad and on longer rides, I head out to the country where it's just twist-and-go.

I'm thinking about a synthetic oil, like the Shell Rotella.  Just wondering, though, if I should use the 20W-50, or something lighter.

10W-40 These engines have much tighter clearances then a Harley, and do not need the extra thick oil.

Hey Mongo, like you I just picked up a '78 CB750F with a missing left side cover and have been madly trying to find a replacement.  There was an auction for one I was watching on ebay but that ended up going for $120 plus shipping... not quite what I was hoping to see.  Anyway, you mentioned you were in contact with someone who has aftermarket plastic.  If you could pass along that contact information to me it would be greatly appreciated!  If anyone else has a lead on a source for these covers I'd love to hear it.  I bet the guys building these bikes back in '78 never imagined these damn pieces of plastic would be worth so much
