1978 Honda CB750k Muffler

HondaLuv
Hey,

I'm attempting to fix up a 1978 Honda CB750k.  I'm trying to find a suitable muffler for the 4-1 exhaust system that it has installed.   I have the exhaust headers painted flat black, and I'm trying to find a weld on muffler to match.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

On the right side of bike, I have a plate to bolt my exhaust onto.   I don't see any place on the left place to hold an exhaust.

Is my bike supposed to have a 4-2 exhaust system?

well that depends on what you want, 4 into 1 or 4 into 2, there both doable, i have a 4 into 1 on my 82 750k model and i like it, its a MAC system, but you can find a slip-on muffler and have it welded to your collector or clamp it for ease of disasemble,, with 4 into 1 you probably dont even have to rejet the carbs, i did not have to and mine runs great,,since you already have the header on there you might just get a muffler for the one side and be done with it,,,hope this helps, mikey440

There are a number of options. Some easy to find, some not so.
If you could, a yoshimura, kerker, or supertrapp would work great. Those will be hard to get though and usually pretty expensive.
You can get full systems but expect about $400 or more.
You can get a mac system for something like 250 for a full system I think, been a while since I checked though so it may have changed.
You can also do slip ones. Emgo and jardine are pretty common and a slip on will set you back about 50-100 depending on what you get. If you can, find one that has removable baffles that way you can take out some of the restriction since you have a 4-1.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
