1978 cb750 start button/rotor questions

ok got my new wiring harness in today from our trustee friends at feebay but i now have a new issue all other issue's seem to be fixed turn signals running lights brake lights all work now BUT

when i hit the start button the cylinoid just click's or buzzes the motor kicks over fine put the battery on a 50 amp starter charger combo still the same bike will kind of sputter when kicked over do to no gas tank hooked up so everything else seems to be fine but just no start button

wondering is it possible that i may have hooked up the wrong wire or would a short in the harness cause this issue

also is it possible rebuild a stator or rotor if i determine mine is bad after i get the ign coils from vintage750 they forgot them lol

Is the + wire from the solenoid to the starter hooked up? Also there are company's that rebuild rotors, and stators, but it is not a do it your self job.

ok i left the battery on charge and now it cranks over with the start button thank god thought i really screwed up something lol but i guess if my battery is draining that bad i have a problem with the charging system so i will have to take that apart later today when i get back home

the horn is suppose to be hooked up to the black and light green wire what is the dark green wire go to that comes out of the same rap got the coil wire's all hook up be have 3 wires where the horn gets hook up and can not figure out what the dark green one is for

is the turn signal relay suppose to have 3 wires hooked up to it cause the relay that was on the bike only has two but i have a black gray and green wire left over at that point

The start switch closes a pair of low current contacts in the solenoid.  When that low current circuit is energized, it pulls a high current pair of contacts together, connecting the battery to the + post of your starter.  This is the "click" you hear.

Some things to check:
Good clean connection between the frame and the green ground wire of your harness.  I think on the DOHC bikes, it's under the seat on the right side.
Clean connections at the solenoid.  The less resistance at these connections, the better the transfer of power will be. The solenoid can be disassembled and the contacts cleaned, but it may be better to get a new one (if one's available...should be). You should also check the Start switch contacts. They should be clean as well.
Starter in good shape.  It should spin very freely once you apply power to it.  Check the bearings and brushes inside the starter.  I checked mine by removing it from the bike, and hooking it up to a NON-RUNNING car battery.  
Good healthy battery. The battery is only good for maybe 18 amps DC at its best.  If the battery is even a little bit low, it'll make for hard starting.

DO NOT USE A RUNNING CAR TO JUMPSTART A MOTORCYCLE. The current delivered by most cars is well over the 30 amps that the bike can handle.

That's all I can think of for now.  Let us know how it goes.

On my bike every dark green wire was a ground.BUT,that was my bike.Yours may differ.
