1979 CB750K

Ok this is my first bike and project so bare with me here. The bike wasn't running when I bought it but I've fixed that problem but I'm not sure if its ok to keep running it with out that part that comes from that hole and runs to the other side of the bike.[photo below] I'm not even sure what its for or even called and the bike already had the pods on there befor I bought the bike so.. was it for the stock air box? Would it be ok to leave it like that?

That is the crankcase vent. You need to put a hose with a filter on it positioned in a way that water cannot get into the hose, and into the engine. I have used fuel filters on these, however I recommend the ones with paper elements.

Pods do not work with the CV carbs. Just sayin'...  If you have CV's, find an OEM air box, and save yourself time and money and hassle. Cheers!
