1979 CB750f New to Me

jreichert
hello Cb forum members Im justin and i just got a new to me supersport it is silver and has quite a few mods done to it already but looks basically stock. Mods include, 900 cams, high strength valve springs, f4 coils and plug wires, 4 into one exaust and a dyno jet kit. i was also told the charging system has been gone through.
I traded my 1982 honda ascot ft500 straight across for it and i am happy with the deal ill tell you all this bike screams ive never owned a inline 4 before and i must admit it is a blast to ride. i will be tuneing it on the dyno soon as it runs rough below 3k and idles poorly once i get it all dialed in i will post numbers and graphs for you all to oogle as well as what jetting and settings i found worked the best for anyone curious.

My  main ride is a 99 sv650 that im slowly customizing. i will update this with some pics soon

Hoosier Daddy
Looks like on heck of a NICE SCORE ON THAT F !!!

Also sounds from the mods that have been done the PO was rather knowledgable as to what can be done with these Gals. I have wanted an FT500 since they were new but to swap even up, somebody REALY wanted yours. I think you lucked out!
I bet the 750 - four is a big step up from a 500 single and a world of difference.
81 Honda CB750C - Current Project
67 BSA Spitfire MkIII - Next Up (Full Resto)
81 Honda GL1100 - Bob / CafeĀ“
80 Suzuki GS750L - Bratstyle
72 Honda CB450K5 - Basket Case
73 Honda CB350F Cafe' (Gone but not forgotten)

Don't wait for opportunity to knock... kick the door down and drag the old harlot in!

thanks I agree that this is a huge step up over the ft500 but neither one of us walked away from the deal unhappy my ascot was nearly a museum piece with 5k original miles and 100% original. It just wasn't my style.
I'm looking forward to being able to modify this old honda without feeling like i'm destroying history.
