That is a crazy lookin tail light.
|
|
I like how you set up the rear fender,, where did you bolt it onto the frame? because it looks like the cross bar for the stock setup is cut off. You really should think about replacing that tail light, the angle is fucked.
|
|
Have to agree on the tail light: needs to be angled down so that drivers approaching you from behind can clearly see it. Otherwise, you are putting yourself at serious risk. You do not want to be rear-ended! Looks as though you might be able to just bend the mounting bracket to angle it down? Otherwise, you should be able to cut a wedge out of wood, to insert between the bracket, and the light assembly -- paint it gloss black, and it will hardly be noticeable. Cheers!

If, you look the headlight is also pointing down. So when he is riding a wheelie the lights will be proper orientation. TOOLS

you think you could lift the front wheel on a CB750? I'd love to see someone riding a wheelie on one of these..

No problem on the 5 speed bikes. Especially the DOHC bikes.

The PO I got mine from told me he used to lift the front wheel off the ground with it. Funny... The fork seals began leaking the year after I bought the bike from him. Hmmm...

That's just common wear. Did, you see the "Buddies POW/MIA bike" post where I showed how to change them?

No, I'm not trying to resurrect old threads, but...
As I said in my intro, I'd find this site while Googling from time to time and read the posts, and just recently registered.
This is one of those instances. Last night I was cutting holes in my chain guard (I love holes) and noticed the sticker on it said CB750L. Funny, I thought I owned a K model. This morning I Googled CB750L and guess what? This site is the first option to pop up. So whether it's a K or L model, I'm happy to have something to fool around with until my CB500T shows up. I've been having fun drilling holes, polishing aluminum, and removing stuff that doesn't suit me.
I put the "G" in Jihad.

Hello all! I have been a long time CB750 fan, at one time owning 9 of them (SOHC). Now, I just "rescued" a 1979 Limited and have been fixing the neglect from the previous owner. I will post pictures soon. A few points; I replaced the mismatched slip-on mufflers and head pipes with a stock exhaust system from an F model. I have some mods to make before it fits just right, but has anyone ever done this before, and if so, any tips? I would be willing to trade the F system for a K system in the same shape (very good, no rust). Also, I have cleaned and adjusted the carbs, replaced chain and sprockets, new battery and rear tire, complete new aftermarket headlight assembly and fork ears, as well as completely rewiring the headlight/turn signal circuits (it had a Vetter on it). I found a good left side cover to replace the missing one, dug up some original cable ties (you know, the cool aluminium ones), replaced one coil, oil change and new plugs/air filter as well as fresh wash and wax/polish. She looks good but not perfect. Now I would like to know, since there were only 5000 made, how many are left? I have number 1437, manufacture date of 11/78. Is there any kind of clearinghouse or registry that tracks how many LTDs are still on the road? Should we do it here?
I love her and plan to take a trip from where I live in Oregon (Eugene) down to SoCal to see friends, I want her to be as perfect as possible. BTW, I am over 60 but will still swing a leg over the old gal until God calls me home. Great to be here, looking forward to many happy memories.

Hi Jake,
I'm in the UK and have a CB750 Limited. It was imported in '99 and was fitted with a Vetter Windjammer, Side cases and Top Box (Trunk?) and had some horrible straight mufflers on. I replaced the entire exhaust system with a used one from a CB900 Custom. The only modification I had to make was a bracket to hold the mainstand rubber stop. Looks cool and you get the 4 mufflers like the original CB750L system.
I know that in the picture I have the wrong chrome chaincase fitted but that has been replaced with the correct 'rounded' one now.

Hello everyone! I have a 1979 cn750l, maroon in color. I have done some minor work to it, new signals, removed the windscreen, and installed new fork seals. I am looking for a new 4 into 1 exhaust. Will a cb750k fit??
