According to my Haynes manual, page 160 shows this as a 1979 CB750K.

My wife and I toured around Lake Superior on our '79, back in 2009. Rode through four days of rain, in Canada. Never had a problem with the bike -- an incredible trip! Bike still runs like a champion. Progressive suspension is one of the best upgrades you can make on these -- mine now rides like a modern bike... Ohhh, smooth and comfy!
Hi there - is this picture of your bike?
It just so happens I picked up my own 79 CB750K in 2009, and later in the year went touring around Superior (By Bonneville). So one morning I was pleased to notice the very nice 750K in the picture below - jealous of the 4 into 4 exhaust since my own one has some nasty aftermarket thing on it that will have to go.
I was just surfing this forum for some info, and happened upon your post and laughed - couldn't resist posting to see if it was your bike that I saw! Hope I can get mine as nice as yours - I just started bringing mine back to the land of the living.
Cheers!

Cheers Luke, I will let you know what the beast turns out to be...Fingers crossed, it may just go down as a frame change in its history?

When I sell a bike I always give the manual with it hoping the new owner
will use that manual to take care of the bike.
Many times owners will not go out and buy a manual.
Instead they just guess on how to fix things, ask friends that do not really know,
or go on the web and get incorrect information.

Well in the UK that is possible.
What is dvla ???
Did you get ANY paper work with the bike?

Holy CRAP, Dude!!! That IS my bike!!! Where did you take this photo? The trunk is an aftermarket, and I wanted to make it appear as though it were factory. I found a set of tank badges on e-Bay, and I attached one to the rear of the trunk -- it is unique, so I can recognize my bike (now sold...) at a glance. The Vindicator fairing is also a give-away -- they are rare, as most folks have Windjammer models from Vetter.
I never saw your bike, that I remember. We must have been inside, sleeping, when you took this. That was our first big tour: nine days, just us, no one else. Never had an issue with the bike, other than the throttle grip came off in Thunder Bay, Ontario; glued it back on, and the bike performed flawlessly, the next six days. Sold it because we were no longer riding it, having purchased our Voyager touring machine. Still love that bike, though. Planning to get a 3' x 4' banner photo print of it, to hang in the garage. It is a fantastic machine, if taken care of.
Thanks for sharing! That is really a rush that you saw, and photographed, our bike on our trip. It really is a small world... Cheers!

Yes, that was a motel we stayed in. Not sure where Bonneville is, suspect this was on the South shore, in the UP, of Michigan. We ride until we decide to quit, then look for a place with a vacancy. Never had trouble finding a room yet, in the past four+ years. We usually stay in smaller, less expensive places -- which is part of the fun and adventure. Many such Mom & Pop places are older, dating back to the late 60's and early 70's, in decor. This gives us a chance to go back in time, to our early childhoods, by visiting these places -- they've all been decent, and clean, just very old in decor, which we find charming: our bikes are vintage, and so are many of our motels. We enjoy it all. Cheers!

Hi! Thanks for replying - it's just cool as hell to see a bike and then just happen across the owners in this way! :D
I am pretty sure that the picture was taken in Canada. I am not sure exactly where, but I know it was a gas stop, so it was a small motel with a small Mom and Pop type gas station. I am thinking it was in the morning. I'll have to have a look at a map and see if I can guess where. I think I still have the route.
That sure was a nice CB750, pity you had to let it go, but now someone else is enjoying it, so it's not all bad.
My rebuild is just about done, I will start it up and tune it in next month, hopefully put on a few miles this year.
