1980 CB750 Custom - Bobber!!

edwinmedina28
This site is awsome! I'm glad I came by it. My baby! I'm thinking about giving her a complete over-haul and making her look like a WWII Army bike. Flat olive drab and black motor. Also talking to somebody about making me a custom exhaust, instead of a 4-2 it'll be a 4-4. Love my bike! has a small dent in the tank though, don't know if i should replace the tank or have somebody fix it for  me. Gauges don't work, i want to change it to a single gauge. What you guys think?

Looks good, depending on how big the dent is just use filler if your going to repaint it.
It's only illegal if you get caught.

If at first you don't succeed, use more lighter fluid

I'm in the Army now and always loved the way the WW2 bikes looked. Figured when I got myself a cruiser that I'd make it look like one. Great thing about the CB750 is that I can do everything myself to it. A little bit of elbow grease goes a long way. I'm not a mechanic but the service manual and youtube sure do help a lot. This site is also helping a lot too.

I was wondering whats the biggest (I should say fattest) I can go on the front tire and the rear tire without having to do any modifications to the forks or swingarm. I want to put black spoke rims on her, any ideas where I can find some?

I'm going to strip the pain down this weekend and paint her OD Green (matte).

Find spoked rims from a CB, the powdercoat, or paint but the powdercoat would prob hold up better.  And your right, WWII theme would be awsome (allthough a Marine theme would be better)

He wants wwII cuz he wants it. It will look very cool. Welcome to the board. I have a 1980 cb750 c I am rebuilding. remember this is an awesome bunch of guys here at this forum it took me a while to realize that most guys here have pre 1979 SOHC cb's,,,not that that'a bad thing. We are special we, have DOHC and should qualify our questions to the dohc, altough these gys are generous and smart sometimes the asnwers leave you scratching your head and that is usually why.

For example they have no problem with those cool looking pods; since we are special our breathers must remain stock cuz of how they suck (vacum system)... you'll never get the carbs right with pods on a dohc.

     SO ,

carbs ,electronics ,suspension, wheels are all different then from A 1978 f3 s.o.h.c. to A 1979 d.o.h.c.? cause I'd sure like to know what all it is cause that 78 f2 is just like my 77 f2.

I believe correct info on yr.and model from the start would make A bigg difference for all post(try putting in yo signature on bottom)
