1980 Honda CB 750c Charging System

dantmcclellan
Hi all,

My battery isn't charging & I'm a little confused. I've seen exciter coils online but mine doesn't seem to have one (I have a stator). Is that perhaps a 750k vs 750c difference?

Much of the wiring is suspect & I haven't been able to figure out how the charge is actually supposed to get back to the battery. So if someone with the same model could put up some nice, detailed pictures of their charging system that would be fantastic.

Thanks,

Dan Mc

The DOHC (all 79-83 CB 750-900 models) have problems with the charging systems. Both the stators, and rotors go bad. You can download the Factory service manual for free from the manuals thread at the top of the home page here. It has very good detailed instructions on testing the charging system, and it's components. Also if you do a search here, you will find several threads on DOHC charging.
