Is the headlight in Fiona a sealed beam unit or it it a housing with an H4 bulb in it?
I kind of remember my 72 had a one piece seal beam...but that was 33 years ago.

It has an H4 bulb in it, real easy to change out, had to just replace mine and I have the exact same bike

EXCELLENT.
I thought it might me one sealed beam!

What's the max wattage H4 bulb I can use without causing drain? ( since the charging system SUCKS on these bikes)

Idk, I just went with the same wattage as the bulb that was in it which was a 60/55 W. I got a Sylvania Xtravision from Autozone for 13.99, pretty damn bright for me. I also wired up a on-off-on switch for the headlight because the stock switch was bad and I now have the ability to turn off the headlight so it doesn't draw power while the bike is just idling.
My charging system was weak too when I got it, was actually drawing the battery's voltage down when running. I changed the regulator/rectifier, alternator brushes, and put a beefier ground wire on it and it charges great now.

I have the same bulb in mine as Hellbilly described. Super bright. Rivals the headlights on my '01 Silverado. I haven't had any drainage issues and I run around with both high and lo beams on over 75% of the time. I have the high beam side relayed to reduce the load on the switch. If you nudge it up a little it'll bring on the high beam relay and you still got your lo beam. Lots of light for the deer infested area I live in.

I swapped out my h4 for a h4 HID bulb. Wow does it light things up. Got it from hidcountry for $55 on ebay. Came with everything I needed.

Yep.Thats what I meant. When my high beam is on it leaves a fairly dark area right in front. I cant spot for potholes quite as good as I would like to be able to. I was afraid running both filaments at once would overload the switch so I put a relay on the high beam side.

Not a bad idea, I never thought about wiring up my high-beam to be both high and low... interesting....

Its wired normal other than the relay. Being able to hit both beams at once is just in the factory switch itself. It will stop in the middle position and burn both beams with everything stock. I added the relay just to take the extra load off of the poor ol' switch

Neat, although I'm pretty sure a green headlight is illegal in Ontario.
