If you still have those forward controls and are willing to let them go for a decent price, I would love to take them off your hands. The trunk would also be great, but I suspect that to be out of my current price range.

I think he is planning on mounting the "Flux Capacitor" in the trunk

Change of plan on the camera. Although it worked ok, the image is less than I am use to. So...I spent more money (what else is new)

Since I do have a windshield on Fiona, I picked up a Creative Labs Vado II and a Panavise 809 Camera Window Suction Cup Mount.
It's not as cool looking as a ATC2K but but it is High Def, HDMI interface, & wide screen video.

Like the GPS I use the carry strap as a safety.

BTW I picked up a Refurbished Garmin Nuvi 1100 GPS for my son for $59 This would fit perfect on a bike.

New grips came in from China today.
They look good, the only thing is that although they are the same
length overall as my oem grips, the inside is about a half inch smaller.
(the size of these are 13.5cm) So for these look for 15 cm.

This is due to the rubber base of the grip being thicker by that much.
No big deal but now I know EXACTLY what size to order for the next set.

Fiona has a new look.

Cabreco
Now that I have my heavy cruiser, Fiona is used mainly for me around town... locally.
So that being the case I have made a few changes to Fiona's look.
I took off the sissy bar as well as the windshield, and added leather saddlebags.
Today I got the new tombstone tail light. This this is one heavy chunk of chrome.
I have been also looking around at replacing the 2 up seat with a solo.

Thanks Tools for the ideas!

Fiona always looked good before, but I like the new look, too. Very clean and sporty looking. The bags look great.I wish I had something like that on mine, but cant figure out how to pull it off on a Cafe without looking bad.

Looks real nice man.Real nice

Damn!  Nice.  Very nice.

It's because of bikes like Fiona that these Super-Bikes are still so popular -- they are never out of style.  Thanks for sharing.  Cheers!

I came in to admire Fiona's makeover again and noticed the fork bag. I have been considering one of those myself. I've been told they would look wrong on a Cafe, but I like them.

Thanks everyone. Even though I got the Venture, Fiona is still my "baby".

WallyWorld is an EVIL place, I can never leave there w/o spending at least $80.
When I bought the fork bag & also bought 1 pair of fingerless riding gloves, 1 pair of full leather riding gloves, and a 3/4 helmet for the wife.

$110 bucks. (all I went for was my $20 fork bag)

LOL  It's funny how things escalate isn't it? I went to get the bag, couldn't find one, bought a can of paint instead but ended up riding 175 miles out of my way on the way home. Good thing I didnt get the fork bag, though. I never paid attention before, but where my headlight and gauges are lowered I dont think I can fit one in there. Plan B...

I don't think so either. One good diving stop & there is a problem. You don't want to obstruct the fork compression.

BUT

Plan B you say?
How about strapping it on below the neck above the headpipes?
Like So?

That is a very good idea. my plan B was to build a box where the factory airbox sat and use the seat lock I cut off the bike so i can lock my tools in with the same key.It would also act as a shroud to help with the stalling problems the pods create when i get hit with a strong side draft. it would also act as a PITA whenever I had to work on anything. I like your idea better

Re: Fiona has a new-ER look.

Cabreco
Even though I bought the touring bike (which BTW is a SUPER comfy ride) I still find that I LOVE Fiona.
As a matter of fact I ride Fiona all week & just take out the touring bike on the weekends
(to keep her running if I'm not going somewhere) with the wife.

So like I said before, I find that I always ride Fiona alone, so I decided to finish the transformation.
I removed the stock seat, added an 85 Sportster seat, polished the fender, added a Sportster luggage rack,
& fabricated brackets for the stock turn signals. I was going to change out the turn signals for chrome bullets
but decided that the larger stock units would be more visible & safer.

Thanks Tools for the inspiration, Piute for the info about the 883 seats, & everyone else here who helped me.
I don't know what I'd do without you guys!

That is slick man. It looks like it belongs there. Its almost a shame, what with all your custom work, that most people will think it came like that!   You pulled off a good one here Cabreco. Very nice!
