1981 Honda CB 750 c - extended bobber hard tail custom

This is a 1981 Honda CB 750 c ;
I extended the swingarm 12.5 inches and hardtailed this sweet ride. I will post pics here of the progress.

   I'm no welder ,But do know my numbers meaning that this doesn't look to strong,Have seen cracked rims and bent frames,very scary .
So tell me your still adding in support,Have a neighbor that customizes frames.Yet to see a finished one.

LOL, I just started, of course Im adding gussets, this is just after 2 days work.

Thats pretty awesome. I like it. One question,honestly curious,not judging:whats the reason behind stretching the swing arm vs. just making new tubes for the back?

Its easier, also - you can hide all the electronics and the battery under the 1/8 inch plate that I welded to the top of the extension.

The hard part is getting the rear wheel all lined up on the vertical axis, then after you tack weld it, its a simple process of adding in the support steel and gussets, besides it looks sweet, its unique, and I didn't have to pay anyone for a bolt on rear end. I was able to get the bike fully hard tailed in 2 days, with just a simple 110 Lincoln welder.

The steel cost me less than 40.00 total. Including the plate.

Haha, I already seen this of Facebook, friended you guys long ago, big fan of your work. Serious question tho, how the hell do you guys get pod filters to work on those CV carbs for those DOHC 750's? Do you have any performance loss when you do use them?

Yeah, there is some loss, its almost impossible to get the throttle curve as good as it was stock, but after several re jettings I am able to make em work pretty good, its also easier if you use the stock pipes like I did, when I made a bike like this with pods and open pipes, I had to create a plate to bolt into exhaust pipe to create fake back pressure, then I re jetted and wala it worked well..

Sorry Shiny, it honestly never even crossed my mind, plus most of everyone on this forum is more into the SOHC 750's so I probably thought nothing of it, lol.

SOHC DOHC...a cool bike is a cool bike. And this is a cool bike. I dont think guys are more into the SOHC's,rather than they are just older and need more attention :)

  I personaly think a fat azz tank would look a whole lot better then that cute Lil Sporty setting there,Sure ther cheap used cause nobody uses them much,but set a pair of Fat-Bob's on there
