1982 Honda CB750 Big enough or not quite?

Adam Baas
I was looking to purchase a 1982 Honda CB750 but i'm not sure if it's fast enough for highway use.  I'm 6'7" and 230 pounds and the speedometer already only reads to top out at 85 so i just wanted to get an extra opinion on what anyone thinks about that and if it isn't fast enough what would be a good bike for me to be looking at.

The speedometer was one of those federally mandated things.  Cars of that vintage had a limit of 85mph as well.  I know my 1979 CB750 has done over 85 mph many times.  It'll go faster, I just don't have the courage yet. I'm sure it'll be fast enough for you.

At 6'7", I might recommend some sort of windshield.  At freeway speeds you may get beat up with wind.

Hope this helps.

Its fast enough! My 78 will do 120 except I generally chicken about 95 or so!
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

I know what he's going through.  I'm 5'11" and I have a 32" inseam.  Let's just say I have a rather long torso. I get beat up a bit as well, but that's part of riding.  I tell my sons it build character.  They think I'm crazy.
