Depends on your shop. The one near me charged me $50, but I also go to their shop often to hang out (they do weekly meets). That was both a sync and to adjust the mixture screws.

Also it can be a PITA if you've got a cylinder that's acting up. And nearly impossible without a 90 deg. screw driver.

OP (Original Poster, you old farts!) I ordered this last night, seems like a decent deal. http://www.powersportsuperstore.com/Motion-Pro-90-degree-Hex-Driver-08-0229-p/4451914.htm

FYI, a carb sync has nothing to do with needing a 90-deg. screw driver. That's because you only need a really long extension for the socket to mess with the throttle plates to match to #2 cylinder. This tool's for the carb idle mixture jet.

Turbos, Hondas, 4-bangers, what could go wrong?

Mixture screws ARE NOT the same as sync. If it's not sync'd, that'd cause it to run like crap. One cylinder is running hard, another isn't, causing the crank to move power erratically. You can make a sync tool for around $5, $10. Do that, report back when you've got them sync'd.

Then after they're sync'd, if it still ain't running right, then move on to mixture screw adjustments. Much more complicated, and requires the 90 deg. screwdriver.

Sync, THEN mixture screws.

Motion Pro also makes a great tool to adjust the sync, about $20.

In most cases it is air fuel that will cause your issues your running way to rich by the looks of your plugs your air polet screws should be at 2 1/2 to three turns out after gently bottoming them out this will get you in the ball park. Also if you think it is an ignition issue dump those pos coils go on flee bay and get a set of cbr 600 or 900 coils its a simple up grade . Get on the bike and hold on you will be amazed. Also get a big crank battery i have had one for five years . No trickle charger over the winter either . If this still does not fix your issues your o rings in the air pilot screws may be cracked I had this issue years ago with my 9 drove me crazy.
