1982 cb750k engine build

Hey gearheads so i have some questions about my engine build.
 1. Are the rod bolts stretch to yield?
2. How can i tell what size bearings i need for my mains. ( some of them dont have the color on the shell)
3. Where can i find honda bearings?
4. Were do babies come from?
5. Are there replacement head studs for these motors? (Had 3 that came out of the block rather then let the cap nuts go)

Not sure about yield, but unless the stock bolts have been over torqued in the past, you should be able to re-use them, just use an accurate torque wrench. If you still are not sure, I'd call either ARP or Ken at CycleX. I know cyclex mainly does sohc, but they might know, or have, bolts that will fit.

For 2 and 3, are you looking for mains, or other bearings, and do they need to be honda? We have the service manual(honda) for download. I would think it should have the size. I'm pretty sure bike bandit has bearings. I guess it all depends on what you need exactly.

the head studs on parts n more are for a sohc. looks like ill just re use the ones I have. also I'm looking more for the main crank bearings at the moment. I didn't know about the connecting rod bolts so I haven't seen those bearings yet. I'm sure ill want to swap them out after I plastigauge them. thanks for the help

None of the bolts are torque to yield, so you will be fine reusing them. I have rebuilt several of these engines and I have never seen a crank/rod bearing need to be replaced because of wear. These are the same type of bearing that will go 500K+ in a car engine.

No, there are dohc bolts, #73-0988 | Honda CB750K (1979-1982)
They are there.

Thanks i must have missed them! Thats a relief. As for the bearings my #4 main is showing some significant damage and will need replaced. I had a timing chain failure which is the reason for the re-build.

Sorry re-run those are exhaust studs. I need the studs that run down through the head and jugs into the top of the case.

Check with your local Honda dealer, there might be some on a dealers shelf somewhere and the dealer parts locator will find them.

Sorry, my bad. The part number should be  90031-425-000 and  90032-425-000. What the difference is, I am not sure, both are 10x224
Maybe contact the APE store and see what they might have. The make heavy duty studs for the sohc, they might be able to hook you up. [phone]
Otherwise, a few places may have it, but they have been hard to find.

For the price, I'd see about APE or some other custom stud manufacturer and get HD studs.
