5.3 minute video of 74 CB750 on test stand by Randy's Cycle Service & Restoration

Hello,

Thought some folks might be interested in checking out our 5.3 minute video of our customer's 1974 Honda CB750 K4 engine with a 836 big bore kit & carbs running on our test stand.  The video can be found on our website or directly at YouTube.com.

I noticed on the site that you do not do separate engine work unless it is a full rebuild. I don't have need for a full rebuild. I could use a once over bore and the heads ported. Is that stuff only offered if a rebuild is being done?
I ask for myself and also since most of the guys here do their own work as well and may be curious.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

Nice looking engine, and nice video!  I like the stand, and the exhaust...never occured to me to use lawn mower mufflers.  Should be a decent amount of back pressure.  By the way, do they always start on the first crank, like this one did?

Love the amount of gum in the carb bowls.  Been there, cleaned that...several times. Any details on how you cleaned this engine up so nicely?  Pine-Sol soak for the carbs?  Chemical cleaners, or sand blasting?

Thanks for sharing.  Looking forward to seeing more.

I'd also like to hear how you cleaned the engine up so well.

I'm guessing you painted the main part, similar to what shiney did, and had all of the removable covers polished up.  Any more details than that would be great.

Looks great.

I'm also interested in potential big bore services.
