Anyone who may know. My bike has poor midrange performance. I know improper jetting can be attributed to this. The bike has a no baffles in the exhaust and wonder if that could be contributing to this. I want to start riding it soon so any help will be wonderful. Tony in Texas

most likely its the jetting. It could also be the slides not working right either. If you don't want to tear off the carbs all the way, and if the problem is not really bad you can start by just shimming the slide needles up with a very small washer. If that doesn't make it better you will probably need a jet kit. Like a dynojet stage one so that you can tune the carbs right.

It seems the jets were clog with crud from dirty fuel. I cleaned them and the tank and am running a fuel filter and that part is good. I pulled the carbs and they appear to have a recent rebuild, all straight and shiny, with new floats. I only need to tune the carbs and that should be it.
Thanks for the input and the idea of a jet kit.
