I looked up my back brakes on several sites to see exactly what hardware was supposed to be there. It showed the pads, and next to the pads were the pad set spring and the pad pin. Does the spring and pin pull the pads off the rotor when pressure is released?

No they just hold the pad in position. What pulls the pad away is the tension on the seal. When the brakes are applied the piston pushes out pulling against the seal, then when the pressure is let off the seal returns to it's normal position pulling the piston, and pad back.

The pad set spring and the pad pin are both missing on my brakes. Will the brakes work correctly without them?

It might work OK, but would be noisy, and wear prematurely.

You gotta have that pin,if it's the same pin my 76F has. It's what holds the pads in position in the caliper. The springs just keep the pads from chattering on the rotor. Like Tools said, it'll work without the springs,but most likely will chatter and squeal. But I'd say the pin is a must have?

The WHOLE CALIPER. Maybe a crapy old brake line if you want it. For a few more $$$$ you can have the whole swing arm/frame.....
