78 cb750f still sputtering - could it be electrical?

Rockwork
Can sputtering be caused by misfiring? If so, what could be the causes?

A week ago, when CB started sputtering, I figured it was either not getting adequate gas or not proper firing. I cleaned the (iridium) plugs, clipped the wires, refastened the connectors, completely cleaned the carbs, and all the valves and jets, and feel pretty confident it's getting adequate gas.

It sputters severely when accelerating through 2K up to 4K, but diminishes at a constant RPM (though still present). Could it be:
1) bad coil and wires (original)
2) bad points or condensers (about 3K miles old)
3) somehow knocked the timing out
4) other

Thank you for any counsel.

You said that you cleaned the Iridium plugs. Those tips are super fragile, it wouldn't take much to ruin them.

Just for fun, try some stock low-tech plugs in there and see how it runs.

Rockwork just put on a pamco ignition in the last week or so. I am not sure the problems are still occurring. Maybe he will chime in though.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

I apologize. I responded under a different post. Yeah, I replaced my points with a Pamco electronic system, but I also replaced my coils and wires. So not only is the sputtering problem gone, but the synchrony of the cylinders is incredible. Road up the Jersey Palisades to Bear Mountain this weekend and I experienced a whole new ride.

Thank you for everyone's input.
