hmmmmm i wonder if it could be that easy??? it sounds too good to be true, that i could just swap axles and be done?? but in theory it makes sense, however, in actuality it will probably be a huge hassle....but im willing to give it a shot, i like the early comstars wayyyy more than the later model ones.

If you swap to the SOHC trees you will have to use the SOHC axle for the narrower fork width. The way Tools was talking earlier,if you stay with the DOHC front end,you just have to make a spacer cuz the SOHC wheel hub is narrower. But my wheel should fit your axle, just needs spacing. Oh,and just in case, everything is with my front wheel. All the factory spacer, speedo drive and the axle. Did you ever check the bolt pattern on your rotors? Are they 5 or 6 hole?
they are 5 bolt, i popped my front wheel off to get an idea of the axle setup and without seeing the SOHC axle im not sure if i can swap it out or not? When i tighten the axle back up, is there a procedure to tightening the clamps?

The bottom clamp is supposed to go, so that it has a gap on the back between it, and the fork. Tighten the front nut first. Then the rear.

Ok. These wheels are 5 bolt, too. So that should work out ok. I just clamp the left leg down tight, tighten the axle nut then clamp the right one down. So,what am I missing Tools? I didnt understand about the gap? Enlighten me with your wiseness

The clamp has a high side. If you set the clamp down on a hard surface, and push down on it where the bolt holes are, one side will go flat, and lift the other about 1/16 of an inch. If, you push on the other hole, you will see that the clamp is not sitting flat/flush with the surface. the side with the gap goes to the rear. then, you tighten the front, followed by the rear. However most of the bikes I look at have them on wrong.

You are asking 100 for the lights,i was selling the wheels for 50....so I get boot, right? Just kidding! I appreciate you thinking about me on that. I have dual lights now. I am actually looking forward to the single head light I got off Bobber to arrive. But I may change my mind tomorrow. You never know.......
hahaha yea the math seems right to me!? And I completely forgot you had dual lights, well if youre interested id do a straight up trade. I have no use for the lights and they didnt quite go with the look of my bike, but if not no big deal. just let me know
Shiny, why abandon the dual setup when you could do this!
In reality, I personally think duals look good with a fairing (even a small one). And yes, I am a fan of Buell bikes

I do like the dual lights. I think they look kinda sporty. Now the gas mask thing is just cool! I just want a big chrome headlight...and possibly a visor for it? My mood changes around so much I forget what I like sometimes
