'81 Seat Conversion/Change

nilsthenomad
I am hoping to change the seat on my '81 750K from the stock stepped seat to the more flat bench seats of the early 70's. I'm just curious if anyone has suggestions on a relatively simple technique or know of a  conversion kit that might exist to do this. I'm not looking to completely change it to a single rider cafe style seat, but would love to just level it all out and streamline the look a little. Also is there a way to rig the seat so it will open on a latch or can be more easily removed? As of now the bolting system is a pain in my ass.  I'd love any input or suggestions. Thanks!
'81 CB750K, '70 C70. As long as the Honda's older than I am, I'm happy...

You will need to do some fabricating. Get a cutting torch, and a welder. Or you could have an upholstery shop redo your foam, and cover to make it appear level.

Take a look what I've got going
                                     Originals seat with cover off

                                     Cut down to pan width

well I will have the seat off set for my support, rear will have trunk or sissy bar

Looking from backside even with pan(also better for short leg)
