81 cb-750 running a little lean

the bike rides fine but its boggs a little at high rpm and dosent have 100% power id say about %75 i thought it had a vacuum leak so i sealed the carb boots going to the engine with gasket sealent and it has k&n single pod filters but it get a little more power if i run it half choke, will running it on choke have a negative effect on my engine? and what do guys think i should do here thanx

Common issue really. What is happening is that these bikes use vacuum carbs and are tuned specifically for the airbox.
Pods can work but take time to tune. You will need to tune the idle mix first. From there, a main jet increase may be needed.
