A 74 oil tank will not go in a 78 frame

As most of you probably knew and I just discovered.  Does anyone know what year they changed the shape and size of the oil tank please?

77-78 are different then the 69-76. Also the F models are different. I have a tank for a 77-78 F if you need one.

I just checked, and the 77-78 F oil tank is the same as the 77-78 K oil tank. I should have the lines with it, but I will need to go down in the basement and dig it all out of the stash. Does $50.00 shipped sound reasonable?

OK found it. It was on a shelf in the shed hiding under other peoples junk. Anyway it is in very nice shape with cap, and hoses.
