One of the Toolbrats came over today with a brand new 650 Ninja. All Black, and shiny with only 20 miles. She told me to take it, for a ride, so I did. I was surprised at how comfortable it was to ride. The seating position was not bad, and it had gobs of low end torque. I hated to bring it back, but I had to go to class. Toolbabe wanted me to drop her off at Toolbrats house on my way to class, so I did. When I got out of class there were 7 missed calls from Toolbabe. I thought this could not be good, so I called her. Toolbrat answered the phone, and said they were at the ER. Seems she was letting Toolbabe ride her old 250 Ninja, and they were coming back to the toolshed. A few blocks away they were making a left turn, and Toolbabe went wide, and hit the curb. She went tumbling, and broke her wrist. She is home resting, but I have to take her to a bone Dr. tomorrow. They might have to put in some metal.

Right now I think she would really like some heavy duty pain killers. Good news is, she says she will ride again.

Ouch. Count your blessings: it could have been MUCH worse. My thoughts and prayers go out for her complete healing. Do what you can for her. Bikes come and go, but good spouses are hard to find. Keep us in the loop.

Sometimes different bikes throw a person. I know I am still getting used to my fz even though it isn't wildly different from my cb. If she was used to her twinstar, the ninja would be really different.
Happy it was nothing more serious than just a wrist, it could have been so much worse. I hope her recovery is quick and as trouble free as possible.
If she does get metal though, and has a sense of humor about the whole thing, you have to get a metal detector and pretend to look for coins or something and "accidentally" swing it by her wrist and have it beep. Then yell "I found something!" and say, "oh, it was just you."
I did this to my wife It was a good laugh.
Let us know how she is doing periodically.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

Wow, Tools, I am so sorry to hear what happened! Tell her the CB750 community wishes her a speedy recovery. Nice to see she has such a positive attitude -- that makes a world of difference at times like these. I hope your Toolbrat isn't carrying a load of guilt around -- things happen, and Toolbabe will recover. Having gone low-side a total of four times, and having a Dad who went high-side (12+ months to recover -- miracle he survived!), I feel your pain. Please keep us posted. Cheers. Mate!

Talked to the nurse at the Bone Doctor's office this morning. He looked at the X-rays, and is going to have to do surgery. However the swelling needs to go down first, so he is looking at doing it Tuesday.

You did not see the crook in her forearm? They tried setting it twice, but it would not go. I am wanting to see the X-rays.

Oh,I saw it. I tried not to. I know that hurts. But she has one heck of a smile on her face! She's a trooper. If I tried to take a picture of Crystal with a broken arm I would be in the market for a new cell phone afterwards.
