Ahhh, don't give up so easily. You just need to get used to it. When I bought my cruiser I was a bit leary at first, but you just have to ride it or else you will never get comfortable. As for the fuse, what's the issue? There are a couple posts about this issue, one from me personally. My bike died on the freeway because the main fuse blew. I thought it would be a problem since none of the fuses appeared to be blown. Turns out it was a blown fuse, just blew in the cap where you couldn't see it. I replaced the fuse and the bike has been fine the last two years.

Don't get discouraged. We'll get that front end down, and the electrics straightened out

Awesome Now you know why I recommend using a circuit breaker, for the main. Just wait a few seconds, and it will reset.

If you have the tools and the skill, I would recommend using shrink tubing and soldering the connections back together. Soldering wires assures a good mechanical and electrical path from wire to wire, and shrink tubing keeps the water out of the wires and the connection.  Crimp style fittings (butt connections) work well enough, but usually won't protect from the elements.

You can search youtube for videos on how to solder good electrical joints.  It takes a little practice and a small investment in tools, but it will make things more reliable for your bike.

I'm glad you figured it out!  That's part of the fun of these bikes. Sure it's frustrating working out electrical problems, but patience, a good schematic, and one or two adult beverages seem to help.
