Accelerator pump issue ?

bebauer
I have a 1982 CB750c.

My bike starts and idles fine, but for some reason cylinder 2 doesn't fire.( Cylinder 2 is connected to the carburetor that has the accelerator pump)

I have good spark across all 4 cylinders but cylinder 2 doesn't fire.

It's obvious that the cylinder is not getting fuel because the spark plug is clean and the exhaust pipe is cold.

Would the accelerator pump be causing this ?

Nope, would not have a thing to do with it. Your pilot jet is probably plugged.

I cleaned the pilot jet and now all four cylinders fired, but it doesn't seem like it's getting same amount of fuel as the other cylinders.

I don't have the automatic fuel petcock hooked up. Is this something that is necessary to have hooked up ?

No it's not. What makes you think that cylinder is not getting as much fuel as the others?

When I run the bike and then shut it off the exhaust pipe is significantly cooler then the rest, which makes me think its not getting consistent fuel.  But I don't have a lot of experience working on bikes so it could be something else.
