Hoping to borrow one for a day to avoid waiting until the end of next week for shipping.  Road trip is being delayed because of a shorted rotor.  Thanks!

Aren't you supposed to be able to use the rear axle for this? Or is that SOHC?

Wouldn't it be kind of hard to ride with the rear axle holding the rotor on?

Saw a video on this.  It would be just to pop off the rotor, instead of using a rotor puller.

But I'm weary of taking a hammer to my axle, messing it up somehow, and then having two problems on my hands.  But it's an option I've considered and will probably revisit if I can't find another way by the end of the day.

Right now I'm gonna see if I can do it with a gear puller.  Will let you know how that goes.

Thanks for the responses guys!

A gear puller will NOT work, and will probably do some damage. You can go to a hardware store, and pick up a bolt to do it with. That's what I do.

Well it worked.  But you're not wrong - did heavily damage the rotor, but that was to be expected.  Had a serious short so I was gonna scrap it anyway

Which damaged the rotor? The gear puller or the axle?

The gear puller - I had to pull the rotor off in two pieces.  It actually still seems salvageable possibly.  I think it just needs to be recoiled and glued back together.  Does anyone know what the refurb process is with these things?  Not to do it myself but to see if I can give it to someone who can
