Well, this is odd...


Engine Performance:
1977 Honda CB 750 F 2 - 63.7
1977 Yamaha XS 750 - 68.2

Racing track capabilities:  
1977 Honda CB 750 F 2 - 58.7
1977 Yamaha XS 750 - 43.9


So the Yamaha had the better engine performance, but the Honda had a MUCH better track capability.

Turbos, Hondas, 4-bangers, what could go wrong?

   Good point ,
but It states "capability"these are stk bike comparisons,don't take much to make any subject better,I was deciding witch before I chose the CB,(last year).
   Could be gearing ,designed for track
