Back from the dead

dave Esch
So last year I blew up my bike as you all know. I am now starting my search for a new motor. I was considering a newer motor, maybe a Honda 600 engine. Has anyone seen this done? Any suggestions on a motor? Now I don't want anyone researching for me, I will begin that in a few days. Just thought I would ask the experts. I am not opposed to using another 750 four engine. I'm just hesitant to buy a motor that old that I cant hear running first. It's been a bit since I posted, so here's the spec:
75 cb750k
I put so much work into her last spring that I just can't bear to get rid of what's left. i NEED this bike to go, go, go again. Actually, a head is all I need. Thanks guys, hope everyone had great holidays

This is probably a stupid question, but why not fix your head and keep truckin '? Just curious why would want to with a whole new engine if you already know what you got. Whatever you decide, good luck to you

Hey Dave, Glad to see, you back. I had been wondering if, you ever got your bike fixed. I posted that I had came up with a head, for you. Guess, you missed it. I still have it. It needs the valves all done, but is useable.

I can do the valves. Are you talking about seals and reseating? Or does the head actually need valves?

The reason I am replacing the head is because After completely rebuilding the motor I somehow left a nut in the top end. The engine was exposed at work for some time, not sure if I was sabotaged or not. Regardless, the number 1 rocker arm came down smashing the nut and cracking the head. It can be welded but the tolerance is so tight I would rather just replace it than pay to get it welded, only to find it leaks or doesn't clear the valves anyway.

It has the valves in it, but I am sure they will need done. However it does not have the cam, or rockers. Do, you need them also?

Re: Back from the dead

I don't think so. I was concerned about the number 1 rocker. It's the one that acted like a hammer on the bastard nut. But it appears to be ok. It's fine with or without valves. I have to remove everything to have the head sandblasted anyway. I don't wish to talk price in an open forum so email me and we can discuss this further.
