Battery/electrical problems

Cafesomeday
So my 77cb750 is sitting at a gas station 25 miles from home right now because it wouldn't start. I just picked it up from the shop for oil hose and seal work an hour after hours and the ignition key was to on and there were no lights on. First ohno. I had been dropped off so I frantically started kick starting hoping something might start it and the final kick I landed on the seat and it started the bike up. Great I started to ride home but it kept missfiring and stalled out once at 35mph or so. I took it easy, it felt like bad gas or too rich or something so I went to the gas station and filled her up with high grade (almost 3 gallons) thought that would do it bit then it wouldn't start. A guy helped me to try jumping it and it worke but died shortly after taking the cables off. I left it for a few hours and came back with a portable charger to try again. It worked and I tried to let it run a while and recharge (white smoke coming from the exhaust big time at 3500rpm) and took it for a spin. No problems for a mile or so then it stalled and restarted and finally when I got to a red light right by the gas station it stalled out and wouldn't restarted so I got off and started pushing it across the street when I noticed my lights were on. I got back on and rode it the 100 feet and it stalled.

This happened while I was riding too. If I moved my ass around it would stall then move again and I'd have power back. Now I think the bat is dead dead and I'll need a new one.  HELP me. You think it's just the bat or something worse. I need to have it moved by tomorrow (6/30) night and want to know if I should get a battery or have it towed - what could cause this. Thanks guys.

I would charge the battery up good. Use a battery tender to do it and check the fluid level in the battery while your at it. I think you have a bad connection in your wiring someplace since you can just wiggle or hit a bump and it quits on you. Check your fuses and connection for corrosion. The bike will not run right with a low battery they were designed to maintain and charge a battery but not to charge a dead battery.

Reminds me of this one time when I did not have one of the battery cables tight. Riding and then dropped idle and dead. I have to second vern with a loose connection. Check them battery cables and there are a slew of connections under the left side cover, check those too. Check the ign switch for good measure.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
