That welding thread wasn't a coincidence. Figured I would format it in a way that would be helpful to more than just my specific case of needing to know how to weld up headers and hamster tubing to route my boost.

Also thought about doing a similar thread on fiberglass, and maybe painting. All things that can save some serious money if you can do it yourself and can afford the upfront cost of tools.

The turbo thing has seriously changed my plans for the rebuild of the engine.  I was planning on leaving it alone for the most part until I got the money to do a total rebuild on it. Now with the cost of turbo, I think that would be too much of a chunk to bite off all at once.  Now Im thinking I may have to deal with a crappy engine for a while.

I think I will have to now do the rebuild of the engine in 2 or 3 stages, one installing/modifying the rotating assembly for turbo and modify the transmission/clutch for more HP and ride it like that with low compression and no HP. Two save up some money to redo the head totally and three add in the turbo and all that requires. I maybe able to combine 2 and 3 depending on how much I spend on the head.

I do have a pie in the sky plan of just saving enough money to do it all at once but that requiers this 750 engine to stay running as is for a few years. It could do it but I could also break something and really regret it.

That was a good idea on your part.If you want to know about fiberglass, thats Piute's department. So whats up?You dont think your engine will live for a few more years?

Well I honestly I don't know what my engine is like who knows with it being flooded.  It should last for a while no problem I just don't know if I will break a cam chain and bend some valves or maybe a primary chain and screw up the transmission.  I think I will have to do the minimal get a gasket kit tear it down clean it, replace the chains inside as that's my main worry, and see what its like.  Cross my fingers it will all be good.

Here is my preliminary engine rebuild plan, tear down one totally stock replace only what I have to. This will allow me to ride the bike and get it on the road. Maybe add in a Dyna iggy because I will need it anyway and save me from dealing with points

Get 836 kit with forged pistons and lower compression, new rods also. I hear a matics crank has a longer stroke to it so find one of those too. Tear down 2, put in new parts and also get transmission worked on, undercut gears for the added HP that will come later, and better clutch for same reason. Put it back together and ride it like that until I save more money

Get work on the head done for turbo, valve work and porting and such. This could be on the cheaper side but I could also drop some serious money here. Not totally sure what I will do as far as the head is concerned.

Get turbo and do everything needed for it, headers, fuel pump all that fun stuff.

Matic crank is the same stroke as the other CB 750's. However the crank is different because it has CV type primary chain, and not the double roller type. If, you want to do a turbo the Matic top end is perfect though. It has lower compression, and the cam has the right specs.

207 mph, that's what 15psi of boost can do in this bike.  The nitrus wasn't used as the clutch would slip even when he hit it at 190 mph

I know and it sucks that I cant do anything.  It's probably a good thing the bike is a 2 hour drive away or I would be spending money on it and not my bills
