Busted my $h!^ ,SORRY Lil pissed

Piute

Some how my disc side bearing retainer broke"out" just the center looks to be all the way around (well is screwed self out as far as could and hit caliper mount arm,(I should be dead).
    Bike Bandit #5 http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/1977-honda-750-super-sport-cb750f/o/m151839#sch405624
MAY need all the peaces inside and possibly replace complete rear com-star ,This really sucks ,But has to be fix "yesterday",Checking with others for possible reasons,

O.K. Paul took a look we decided that the /that retainer wasn't tight enough ,cause on that side it backs out as the tire rolls forward,(this should be reversed threaded)
THE THOUGHT IS ; came all the way out hit caliper mount but the threads on wheel N retainer kept turning causing to break all the way around ,Then the good lord pushed the center part back in ,CENTRIFUGAL force of some

I'll get some pictures IF I live after taking to work N back,

First things first: I'm glad you're not hurt!

But how did the retainer back out? Did it rip thru the stakes,or was it not staked?

I know the retainers are available new. A guy in town accidentally ordered me one instead of the seal. And it was only $20,so at least it's wont be expensive.

For the wrench, you can get a good quality adjustable one. That way it'll fit more than just one thing.

Probably not the cheapest, just the first one I came across:  http://www.dkhardware.com/product-20727-sw19-adjustable-spanner-wrench.html?mr:trackingCode=0FE8C30F-CDE0-E111-9B44-001B21BCB944&mr:referralID=NA&mr:adType=pla&mr:ad=17423109972&mr:keyword=&mr:match=&mr:filter=40818747372&gclid=CKKY99Wc1bMCFQyk4AodggkAcw

LOL.  Stakes dude. You gotta stake the retail.er so it doesn't try to back out. A good whack with a punch and a hammer and you'll be good.

Yes.  Need to peen it.  Should have to be drilled to back it out.  Just been studying up on it preparing to change some bearings here.  I haven't ordered anything from this outfit yet, but they have some OEM parts I've been looking at.  http://www.powersportsplus.com/parts/search/Honda/Motorcycle/1977/CB750F+A/REAR+WHEEL+%2B+DISC/parts.html

If you're on a budget, this cost me a dollar and some time.
Instead buying a Spanner, (although the adjustable ones are VERY handy....)
I made a tool for the bearing retainers out of an old socket with a Dremel just like this one.

Paul made me a tool broke,I remember your wrench n how could been done stuff,I like the socket idea best so far,But need retainer to measure for all 4 holes ,I think that maybe the 2prong one may have scratched or mared just enough to start a crack It slipped a bunch of times.

That same thread also mentions a side grinder that has the right tool. Give that a try?

I checked the size of the socket I used and it's a 1 1/4" (inch and a quarter). That was back when I built the GoldWing so double check the size you need if you go that route. Local Pawn shop has a tub of misc. used sockets and sells them for a buck a piece.
The adjustable wrench idea is SLICK!!!
