CB-750K in Florida

Jeff Stock
Hi,

I have a '78' 750K that runs like crap. I have gone through the carbs  and ignition system and it still runs severly cold natured. Losing my patience and need to sell the bike.
Runs like a bat out of hell but the choke needs to be pulled out too keep her running.
Does anyone know if there is a good mechanic in the Jacksonville Florida area that could make this bike run the way it should?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked it for intake leaks? You may have cleaned the carbs, But make sure they are getting fuel.
Simple if some one else can, why can't I

Your pilot jets are plugged. I am betting you did not remove them, for cleaning. I have seen this happen many times with the Keyhole carbs.

DITTO ^^^^^^^   Runs good wide open, cold natured and pulling the choke to keep her running= classic plugged pilot jets. Very, very common cause of what you're describing.

Here is a link to a thread that shows how to remove the pressed in pilot jets.

Also I would suggest finding a shop with a sonic cleaner, and having them sonic clean the carbs. Most shops will clean them for $50.00 +/-
