CB750 Electronic Ignition NEW

pamcopete
Hello, I have just recently joined this forum and developed a new electronic ignition system for the 1979 to 1969 CB750, CB500 and CB550. This new system is built with the same electronics as has been available for the Yamaha XS650 for the past 4 years, so the electronics has been around a while.

You can reuse the stock coils, or source new dual output coils with a primary resistance of 2.5 to 4.5 Ohms.

Please check the web site http://www.cb750ignition.com for details.

If you are interested, have a look at the site for the Yamahaxs 650 as well. That's where the electronics for the CB750 Igniiton system came from.  http://www.yamahaxs650.com

Very interesting.
I would assume this uses the stock advance system then? It appears that the yammy does.
I will read the xs650 site more and then add this to our parts lists.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

Re-Run,

Yes, the PAMCO CB Ignition system does use the stock mechanical advance system.

I guess I don't understand your question.

If you are referring to the diminishing spark at higher engine speeds with a fixed dwell angle, then the answer is that the PAMCO CB ignition has a 120 degree dwell angle whereas the stock points has a 95 degree dwell angle.

Having a 120 degree dwell angle and high output coils would provide a spark well past red line.

Well, there you go! I'm too busy building Ignition systems to go to the movies...I don't even watch TV! But, it was a good opportunity to tell everyone about one of the features of the PAMCO.
