CB750 Tuning Questions

boostaholic
Hello Everyone!

I need some advice in the way of tuning. I finally got my bike running to the point where it's pretty rid-able, with that being said, it still needs a bit of refinement. When its cold, it runs like dog doo; I gave it about 10 minutes to warm up and it ran fine though, is this normal?

Second, when puttin' around town, constant throttle at like 3k it seems to sputter a bit and maybe even miss, but when I get on it, it pulls really hard and as smooth as can be. I have new carb boots and clamps and the carbs have been cleaned pretty well. I have a carpy 4-1 and stock airbox with paper filter. Jets are 120 and 42's and I have the mixture screws probably 2 1/2 turns out. Any ideas on the sputtering?

It should not take that long to warm up, the pilot jets could be slightly plugged yet, that will make warm up difficult. As for the sputtering, that sounds like ignition, but since you do not have points, I would refer back to dirty carbs.
