CB750F Exhaust too low

Dannymack
Anyone have issues with rubbing on hard turns?  I have a Vance 4-1 system that rubs at the collector on hard right turns.  It gets a little dangerous and keeps me from really enjoying the bike on some good ole Colorado mountain roads.  Any way to fix it?

Welcome to the forum. The Vance, and Hines systems are known, for rubbing/scrapping. Raise the bike, or install a skid plate.

A skid plate won't prevent loss of traction.  ...And control!  Raising the suspension alters the handling.  Exercise great care.

The skid plate sounds like a good idea, until you think about the tires lifting off the pavement...especially in that kind of situation!Yeah,I'm with Sarge...be careful

Two questions then.  Which of the aftermarket offerings has been known to cause the least amount of rubbing?  Also if I do get my current exhaust modified to get the collector to be less obtrusive, what areas of the lower engine (if any) should I keep the heat away from?

Thanks,
Dan

The MAC exhaust is a pretty well designed unit. As, for heat on the bottom of the engine, that is not an issue. Don't worry about that.
