Ok. Yes, I believe the stock one is 14mm.

If you haven't seen this diagram, take a look in this article. It's really intriguing.

http://www.vintagebrake.com/mastercylinder.htm
I've cobbled together a couple brake systems using random parts and used that chart as a guide. I think the info there is spot on. Probably one of my most valuable bookmarks ever.

Agree with using he DOHC forks, too. They're simply better than the SOHC forks in every way. But if you need a pair of healthy forks for a SOHC(to prevent turning a  complete bike in to something unusable) I have some parts I need to unload. I've got a pair of polished ( but dirty) '76 F forks that needs seals. I have the seals, but never put them in. I'd let them go cheap. I let everything go cheap! Think I still have a brand new pair of EBC pads for a SOHC bike, too. Pretty sure I also still have a fork brake for a SOHC.  I need to get rid of some stuff... we need to get together sometime lol

I agree, my friend, we need to hangout soon! I'd love to see all that you have and just hangout a bit and work on some bikes! Also, I think I am going to try and use my 1980 forks and caliper after I rebuild them. Not sure which master cylinder I will use.

Well guys, I have cleaned, cleaned, cleaned, polished and cleaned the carbs and then some... I'm just about ready to put it all back together. Then, something happened. However small, one of the drain plug screws on the float bowls was leaking, so I was trying to take it off. Well... The thing snapped off. I tried to drill it out with no success. Broke three different bits, even with a ton of heat and such. Haha!! A piece is lodged in there now, which has fixed the leak. I'm clearly really good at breaking bits and such! Aren't you impressed with my leak fixing skills!? Hahaha!!!

So, you just " I just kind of went after it. " A drill bit is not the way to remove stuck broken screws. And easy outs should be outlawed!!!!!!
Which carbs and float bowl was it, I might have a spare.

I just don't get it, I have had good luck with easy out tools before but not lately. I mean, what else is there to use? And, they are the Keihin 1973 carbs. I'll have to look further.

This one. I mean, I can't see me using the drain port much anyways, but I guess it would be nice to have use of it.

Also, just discovered that my carbs have a "7A" designation plus brass floats, which I believe means that they are from and early bike?

Your nipple is also broken off. It looks like a No#1 or #2 round top float bowel. I will look and see if I have one in my box of carb parts.

Hey, would one of you be willing to change the title of this thread and maybe the location? I think it should just read "CB750 Builds".

You are in the Members Projects section, so I think you are good with the location. I did go in and change your thread title, but it doesn't appear to have worked, even after clearing my cache.

But since you are the author of this thread you should be able to go to your first post and change the title inside the "edit" feature.

BTW, tell your boss to order some #$%&* Bel Ray chain lube.  Y'all have been out for over a month and I'm running dangerously low lol

Oh, ok. Didn't even think to try myself.

And, I am no longer in parts. It just was not a good fit for me. I'm much happier now! But, I'll see what I can do. Is that the only brand you like?

When the KLR lived outside for a year I loved Maxima's Chain Wax. But with the FZ living indoors it doesn't need that much weather protection. I found the wax held on to gravel dust too easily. Washing the chain showed just how much grit it was holding. Belray's lube dries damn near instantly and doesn't fling off at all. It won't last in the rain as good as the wax, but it's dang close. Good compromise IMO.

I've been using the rest of my chainwax for storing parts. Using it like cosmoline. Works awesome!

I'm just goofing off, but yeah, it's my preferred flavor. Watching your videos, you don't strike me as a "sit behind the computer screen all day" kind of guy, so I can see that. Did you get your float bowls sorted out?

Oh, ok. Sounds like a great product!

And, I haven't started assembly yet. I sent you an email on here, not sure if you got it or not. Doesn't look like there is a PM feature on here.

Re: 1980 CB750K Build

Hey guys, got a question. So I refurbished my 1980 CB750 Forks with paint on the tubes and removing some rust from the stanchions. Eventually I want to remove the K Three Forks and use these hopefully with the K 3 wheel and all. Will it fit properly with the case 3 disc and 1980 brake caliper? If not, can I just swap the discs? They look to be very different however. Also, how the heck do I even go about lifting up the bike so I can remove the forks without a center stand? Do I have to remove the exhaust so I can put a jack underneath?

I have never done this wheel swap so I do not know. You are just going to have to start bolting it together and report the results to us. As for jacking it up, what kinds of jacks do you have?

Ok, will do. Bottle jacks, scissor jacks and good floor jacks. I can borrow other stuff from where I work too.
