Carb Similarities/Differences

Butcherblock
Well after a couple weeks of short rides, my carbs are intermitently dropping gas out the drain nipple in the 2 and 4 carb. Ok, i understand. I didnt clean the carbs as well as i hoped, and now i got to go in one more time. I want to get a full rebuild kit, split the bank, and do it right. Ranndakks has a great kit, but it does not include the jets. I figured once i was in there, i might as well replace those with some nice shiney new brass. After looking around a bit, i see dime city cycles has a full rebuild kit, jets included, for a 82 at a great price. Unfortunateley, the kit is for an 82 750 f. Would/could this work on my 82 k? Or is the jetting all wrong due to oversized exaust or other such performance upgrades on the f?

Jets do not wear out, so I would not worry about them. However you might need new floats if they keep overflowing.

Thanks Tools, the only reason I was thinking to get new jets was to make sure they stated of nice and clean. I suppose I will just get of my lazy ass and sure they are spotless! I am pretty sure it is a float needle problem ass I rode to work today and no fuel leak! If it was my float it would be constant, correct? (as long as there was fuel in the carb)

What was causing them to stick could have cleared. See if the issue comes back. You're running a filter for your gas, right?

Yes I am Sees, the problem started, then stopped, then started again. Now it has stopped again. This weekend is supposed to be ok, gonna ride it a bit and see if it comes back.
