Any suggestions where to get a set of good carb holders?
Indications are that I have a vacuum leak. Carb holders are original and may leak.
I looked all over online and could not find any specified for the 78 cb750F.
Any suggestions?

I do not know of anyone manufacturing new ones, so my advice is e-bay. However the 77-78 Ks are the same. Have you tried boiling yours in wintergreen? 2oz in a quart of water, and boil for 45 minutes, and they will be soft and pliable. Plus your kitchen will smell really nice.

Thank you for the info. Scouring ebay, I couldn't find them for the 77-78 K either, except 1 of them which he says is the same for 2 cylinders. However, he wants $60 each. I'll pull mine off and if they don't appear cracked then I'll use your suggestion to boil them in wintergreen.
What is the wintergreen solution I should look for and where do you get it?
Thanks.

I have not used wintergreen yet, does the rubber dry completely, or does it remain a bit oily?

You see and read a lot of crap on the internet. I don't pass it on unless I've tried it The winter green does work. But if you want new all hope is not lost. Honda still sells #1 and #3 insulators This is how mine is set up now 78 750K. I bought two #1s and two #3s the extra set will take the place of #2 and #4. When you look at the four you have now with the tank off you will see the numbers 1-4 left to right sitting on the bike on the top on the engine side of the rubber insulators. With the two extra ones you need to rotate the insulators 180 degrees so the the number is still on the engine side but on the bottom. put all four on with the clamps snug with the carbs off put a straight edge where the carbs should be and tweak them to get them flat on the straight edge. The carb bank or rack is flat but the intake on the head is not that is why they have those funny angles on the insulators. If you can not get them to line up flat change the ones on #2 and #4 around I don't remember which goes where. Wait I went to look if I can trust my old eyes. Your new extra #1 will go on cyl. number 4 your new extra number #3 will go on cyl. number 2. All you are doing is changing the angle when you rotate the two new extra insulators. Try it my local dealer was surprised and he has a 750 77 I think. I don't know if this will work on anything but mine a 78 750K the F model has a different part number but they look the same. I ran into one issue the two extra insulator were a tiny bit short but they sealed good I'm talking maybe two mm. Also I don't use the type hose clamps that the notches dig into the rubber and over time will chew them up spend the extra bucks and get them from Honda they are not as wide and have rolled edges if not Honda then NORMA makes a good clamp.

Tools, boiled them in wintergreen today. Worked great! Made a difference like night and day in performance on initial run. Incredibly smooth now. Will test at high speed tomorrow.
Thank you for the coaching.
