Hi, just a little bit of advice needed, I have cleaned the carbs and all the jets but the slow running jet blanking plugs have rotted, how important are these plugs, I cant seem to be able to buy replacements so I was thinking of buying some rubber and cutting it to suit the hole and just push it in. my bike is a 1979 kz. it has been standing for just over twenty years, I have had her running, bit lumpy though lol. thanks for any info.

Hi Trikeboiler,
I rebuilt my '79 CB750L carbs, which are the same as yours. The plugs were rotted out but I got replacements from a company called NRP. BUT......I'm in the UK and so is the company! In all honesty, so long as the rubber you use is fuel-resistant, you can make your own. Bear in mind that the float bowl holds the plugs in place so if you do make your own, make sure you leave enough rubber sticking out to press against the float bowls slightly when the screws are tightened.
I hope this helps.

Hi Maz, thanks for the reply, I too am in the uk, could you give me a phone number or contact details of the company NRP. I would rather have the proper rubber caps than my home made ones. Thanks again.

The British have always been civilized and respectful. I wonder how that got bred out of the Americans in that colony to the west. Glad to hear trikeboiler got his problem resolved.

I have to wonder too. After all, Canadians seem plenty respectful. We must just be damn dirty bastards!
