comstar for spokes

jsbx99
Hi everybody,
i am new on the forum, login in from Europe actually. seeking for expertise and knowledge across the ocean.
i have a CB750 KZ 1979, european with comstar and dual front disc brake.
and of course i would like to find the best fit to switch for spokes.
i have been told there is no perfect fit, some adjustement and work will need to be done.
do you have any recommandation or advice ? which model i should concentrate my research on ?
i would really much appreciate.
it seems there is so much more available 2nd hand wheel in the US...
cheers

The American '79 CB750K models had single disc brakes, with spoked rims.   Beyond that, I can't help much, but that is likely why it is not an easy switch.  Tools likely knows far more...  Tools?  Anybody?

I know the spoke wheels use a 6 bolt hub pattern for the rotor to attach to,whereas the Comstars use a 5 bolt hub pattern. I know this is true for the 69-76 SOHC bikes, and I believe it hold true for the DOHC's as well. So you would at least have to source two rotors for the spoke rim. Out back is a whole nother scenario.

The wheels use the same size axle,so you're golden there, but you'll most likely have to sort out you wheel spacers yourself. It's really not hard.just center the wheel. Washers work well when all is fails.

BTW,if all else fails...stop using all else    Good luck

Great thx for the tips
this is very encouraging.
if you understood correctly:
front should be OK, space and size axle. Challenge need to find 2 disks with the 5 bolts pattern.
Back is fine ; but wheel spacers need to be adjusted. And you think that is "easy" to be done with washers ?

i'll start looking what s available on the net.
seems there are a lot of 17' back wheel, when in Europe we had the 18' though.

thx again.

That is so COOL I have been searching for a 75-76 CB 750 F rear wheel, the one with disc brake, and spokes, but am not having much luck. I can find 78-83 wheels all over the place though. Do you have any idea how much spokes would cost to do a 16" wheel?
