Well, a better question is, "
Do you have AC voltage on the yellow wires?" Place your Digital Volt Meter (set to AC voltage, 100 Volt range, or higher) leads across two of the three yellow wires when the bike is running, and see how much AC voltage you have (check by moving around the three, measuring output from all three wires by moving leads in a clockwise way -- verifies all three coils are pumping out current). If there is >30 VAC, then your alternator is working properly.
Next step is to determine whether you have any DC voltage on the output of your Rectifier/Regulator (
if everything is wired properly, you can place your leads across the battery terminals): you should read 14 VDC, or higher, at 3,000 RPM.
To directly answer your question on the stator, and the field coil, check the FSM for testing procedures. The FSM is available from the home page of this web site. Cheers!
