Choke slipping and brakes squealing

Dw07u
Hey guys, just a quick question... Don't know why I never asked before...

Since I got my CB750 the choke pulls out, but then just pulls back in again, unless I pull it out too far...

Once I fiddled with the section that I assume must brake the thing, and it stopped going in for like two days... Now back to it's usual self...

Any way I could fix this?, cuz when starting it sometimes over revs(due to the choke being pulled out too far), not good when It's cold yeah?

any help, advice, or comments would be appreciated.

And also, my front brakes are squealing soooooo bad! it's ever since I got new brake pads, now, at the beginning it was bearable, but now i'm ashamed to stop at the robots, or pull up into parking when there are people around, it's really bad, and I don't really wanna take the calipers off(to check), since I don't really have much experience with these thing... Although I'm kinda getting over the shops always making a mess of things... or not doing something properly...

In case you don't know... http://honda-cb750-s.456789.n3.nabble.com/1980-K-D-Aka-Adachi-td3162455.html

That's my girl, she's a 1980 DOHC

Please help, recommend maybe new brand/type of brake pads, oh and help with the choke please

Nice looking bike!
Don't feel bad, Fiona does the same things.

I did fix the chock by tightening the ring under the knob.
My choke used to used to walk in ( a slow crawl )  but since I tightened that
ring a few it's been fine.

The front brake I can't help you with. My pads are new as well and they squeel.
I would assume it needed shims but I can't see where it calls for them.

Some loud noisy things ya just deal with (muffles, brake wives)

According to one mechanic, the choke is supposed to slip to the "off" position after a little while.  I don't know if it does this by simple vibration, or if something is actually pulling the choke open. I tried several times in vain to tighten the choke knob on my bike.  It will tighten down some with the bushing underneath the knob.

I think it does that so that the bike comes off of the choke pretty quickly: might be an emissions thing (keeps it from running too rich for too long).

Your experience will vary, and I look forward to other riders chiming in with their observations.

It is common, for new break pads to squeal. They should stop after a few thousand miles.

Sometimes silicon grease will ease the vibration and help them to not squeal. On the back side of the pad,of course.Dont know alot about bikes, but the mechanics are the same.Works on all my cars. Also you can cut little chamfers on the edges will and that will help.Just my two cents
