I just made the deal.  Will pick it up Friday morning  77 CB 750 A Hondamatic. It is compleat! They have the side covers, and carbs. They took them off to rebuild them, and never did it. Now I have 3 1/2 matics TOOLS

When I first found out about Hondamatics, my first thought was building a go kart with it as the power plant. Now that would haul some serious a$$ for a go kart. Just don't know what could be used to get power to the wheels. Figured if I ever come across a matic I'd look into what people use in trikes.
Why does it say paper jam when there is no paper jam? I swear to god one of these days, I just kick this piece of shit out the window.

Just use a chain. I have seen several go-karts built with motorcycle engines. Usually they will put a clutch lever on the shift lever. the big problem with a motorcycle powered go-kart is the axle bending. This can be avoided, by putting extra bearings on the axle right beside the sprocket.

Are they just a live axle no differential Tools? That was mainly what I didn't know how to do just off the top of my head. I've never seen any sort of chain driven axle that has a differential. Reason I ask is because I would love to take it to an autocross event see if they let me enter it or at least just have some fun on a track. Now you realy got me thinking on this im going to be lost on the internet for the next few hours looking at that stuff

Go-karts usually have live/straight axles. A differential would be nice if, you wanted to run it on pavement, and turn sharp. I have seen chain driven axles with a differential on older lawn tractors. Used to have an old Dynamark scrambler. I think it came from Montgomery Wards. I think it was manufactured by MTD. That rear end was tough. I used to remove the deck, and put it in 4th gear. Then dump the break/clutch at full throttle. The thing would pull a wheelie with the front wheels 3 feet off the ground. Now, you have me thinking.

That was really interesting. Now where can I find a Mini Cooper? Cheese. I can sell the fairing, and hard saddle bags, for 75% of what I got the bike, for.  Those old Windjammer fairings are becoming popular again. The last one I had, I took to a little swap meet that a locale bike shop was having, and sold it before I could take it off the truck. I myself like the wind. There are deals out there, you just have to look, for them.

wouldn't it work if you made a reverse trike? that way no need to worry about differentials and stuff, and you'd still be able to take it on the pavement, cuz without a diff, one tire has to skid...

Used to have a 1979 CB750L, sold it as a parts bike, now riding a slightly modified 1984 VT700C. Network/Field Engineer. Central OH, USA, Earth, Sol System, Milky Way Galaxy, Universe.

The original had let it sit, and the carbs gummed up. He sold it to the guy I got it from. he took the carbs off to rebuild them. However fortunately before he took them apart. He decided he could not do it, so it sat, for 3 more years. The bags are Bates, and I have all the keys, for them, and the fairing. Next week I will order some carb kits, and rebuild them. I will also do a complete tune-up with Iridium spark plugs. I am really starting to like the black, and red paint. Maybe I will switch the tank, and side covers with the Toolmatic. Oh I all most forgot. It has 17,000 miles, and the tires look like new. I do not think it has ever been out in the weather.
