Chrome tank

alehman
I have a 79k gas tank which i have two plans for. firstly, i want to strip it to bare metal and polish it to a high shine. Secondly, i want to redo the kreem lining in it, which is peeling off awfully. The tank was rusting when i got the bike and i applied the kreem initially, but i think i didnt let the acid etch the interior for long enough. I had an idea though, which i think might solve both my goals, which was to strip the paint off the exterior and remove the kreem/rust on the interior and then have the whole dang thing chromed. Still just toying with the idea, but does anyone have any idea of how well a chromed inside of a tank would hold up to gas? Would it last?

I don't think it would work. If you get gas on chrome and leave it for a while it will discolor and peel. I could be wrong, But I my self would not try it. Chrome is not cheap.

I used a kream kit on my wifes tank about two years ago and it worked great.

I don;t know how you would get that stuff out.
Simple if some one else can, why can't I
